Configuring the Wiz
The Wiz is basically a lead generator on some pretty serious steroids. It's an interactive solar design experience you give your website visitors to convince them to reciprocate with their contact info. Click here to read about the Wiz experience, or here to experience it for yourself!
You can get yourself a Wiz (or several, if you've got a sophisticated, multi-market web strategy) by setting it up directly through your Jigawatt Fusion management interface; it's an add-on to any Jigawatt Fusion account. While we do offer white glove setup assistance, which is especially handy if you don't manage your website in-house, it's quite configurable, and easy to customize on your own.
To create and customize your Wiz:
Go to Settings > Workflow > Wiz Manager. Your user profile needs the proper management permissions to access this section.
Click + New Wiz. You'll be prompted to name your new Wiz (for your organizational purposes only) and determine the tail of the URL.
Configure all your settings. Continue reading for descriptions of each one.
When ready, activate your new Wiz! Look for the prompts at the top of the page to make it appear on the Internet.
Wiz customizations
Panels
The panel picker gives your visitors a good/better/best option when designing their PV system. Most panel manufacturers are hardly household names, but you can add cost drivers to your panel options, and your visitors will indicate themselves as "budget", "value", or "premium" buyers before you ever talk to them. You can have any number of panel choices, but bear in mind that one is boring, and too many will certainly result in analysis paralysis among your visitors. So even if you boast the widest selection of inventory in the Lower 48, we recommend you choose about three.
Panel attributes
The panels you put in your Wiz come from the Materials Catalog, but have a number of parameters you set yourself. To find your panel in the Catalog, just start typing the product name, model number, manufacturer, or wattage, and make your selection from the dropdown list. Parameters you can set on yourself are:
Label - What name you want displayed on your panel. Popular options include "Good/Better/Best", "Made in USA", "Premium", and "On Sale" if you either a) actually want to keep up with that stuff, or b) subscribe to the JC Penney model, where everything is always on sale.
Adder - The next section down in your Wiz manager is Sales Price Tiers, where you'll specify in a slightly sophisticated way how much (per watt) to price the system the visitor designs. The Adder on the panels increases this rate by the amount you specify. So your standard panel will have a $0 adder, while a modest upgrade might be $.15/watt, and a premium one as much as $.50/watt.
Default - When multiple panel options are displayed, one has to show up first. This is the one you indicate as "default", which would typically be your best value panel (or the one you really want to liquidate). Only one of your panels can be marked "default".
Sales Price Tiers
Part of the Wiz's charm is that it tells your visitors, following a fun, interactive experience, how much their solar is going to cost. You can present this as either a cash price or a monthly payment, if financed (see below), but ascertaining the price of the system is essential, even if it's done in the background. This is done with Sales Price Tiers. It allows you to structure your pricing to realize economies of scale and graduated savings from going bigger.
You're welcome to build your Wiz with a single price tier if you so choose (hey, it's a free country). But if you're sophisticated enough to consider a 15kW PV system is much cheaper to install, pound-for-pound, than a 6kW, we've got you covered. Just set up your price tiers more or less as indicated in the screenshot and let the Wiz handle the sixth-grade math for you. The effective rate will adjust based on the capacity of the system your site visitor designs. You can have as many pricing tiers as you want. You'll probably want the effective rate to get smaller, the larger the system, but that's your business.
Submission Actions
When a visitor submits their information, it shows up in your Jigawatt Fusion Pipeline as a Lead. But you can also notify yourself or others outside of Jigawatt Fusion. Just set up one or multiple email addresses as submission destinations, and they'll receive notifications every time a Lead comes in from the Wiz.
Conversion Tracking
Site analytics are a fundamental aspect of a sophisticated marketing campaign, and Wiz activity typically represents the narrow mouth of the lead funnel, the point where a prospect graduates from marketing to the sales department. The Wiz observes the importance of conversion tracking, and allows you to configure it with both Facebook and Google Analytics tracking markers. Choose your platform of choice, and drop in either your Pixel ID or Analytics account ID. How you set that up on the other end, however, is beyond us. Good luck!
Verbiage
The Wiz has a few prompts that nudge users, and thank them for their participation. We figured you'd want to customize that, so we make it easy. Be sure to check your spelling!
Logo
Branding is important! We want your visitors' experience with you to be consistent and favorable, and result in your success. You can grace your Wiz with your very own logo. By default, it picks up the logo you used for your Jigawatt Fusion Company account, but if you have another version or a DBA, you can upload a logo that will appear exclusively on the Wiz in question (in the top-left corner). Just click the little pencil next to the logo to edit or replace it.
Quoted Price
Do you want to quote the PV system cost as a single dollar value (typically in the tens-of-thousands of dollars), or as a monthly payment? There are advantages to both, and it may depend on the audience you're targeting.
Financed Price
If you're targeting an audience prone to sticker shock, or want to emphasize the affordability of going solar, you can designate a loan to apply to the system price. This option references the Global Loan Library, allowing you to choose any lender/loan supported. The payment calculator runs in the background, presenting a single, generally-affordable, monthly loan payment.
Cash Price
This takes the system's capacity in watts and multiplies it by the appropriate Sales Price Tier. Some demographics are more likely to respond positively to a transparent bottom line.
Grid Energy Rate
A big part of the Wiz's value proposition is the energy savings from the solar you're hoping to install. It's part of the justification for the aforementioned Quoted Price, and the first metric your visitor sees after configuring their panel layout. The Wiz does a PV Watts analysis in the background to determine how many kWh per year the solar will generate, and it needs a rate to calculate how much money this home-brewed energy will actually save the homeowner. Key in the effective kWh price for your target market, and present some compelling energy saving!
Colors
As with your logo, the Wiz respects your brand's color scheme. The interface is largely color-agnostic, but you can customize the buttons to make it feel a bit more like home. If you don't know your hexadecimal colors, use the palette to approximate as closely as you can.
Activate and review your Wiz
Once you've got it relatively configured, take a peek at it. First, you'll need to activate it. Then copy the link into a new browser window and experience it for yourself! Get familiar with the options, fine tuning as needed.
Wiz customization services
Each Wiz has a unique, automatically-generated URL (which you can even sorta customize!) that you can do all kinds of things with: blast it out in an email, set a click-through destination for an ad campaign, or simply link to it from your website. If you don't have an in-house web designer, or would rather just delegate the Wiz configuration to a pro, Jigawatt Fusion offers white glove customization services. Just drop us a line and we'll discuss how to work it in with your existing web assets.
