User Roles
User Roles are slated for a future release. This article will be expanded as development progresses.
Quite a few people touch a solar project from the time it's quoted to the time it's commissioned and put into use. Sales reps, project coordinators, designers and engineers, technicians, and accountants–to name a few–have plenty of work to do. Roles let you assign scopes of work to individual Users, so you know at a glance who's responsible. But they're a lot more than a simple FYI.
Mentions and User Roles
User Roles can act as aliases for Users. If you're commenting on a Project that's being managed by a large team, you may not know at the moment who's responsible for specific things. Simply type "@" to create a Mention, and tag any Role that pops up. The assigned User will get the message.
Tasks and User Roles
Jigawatt Fusion Pro boasts a flexible and robust task automation feature, which allows you to set up complex workflows and assign each step to the person who'll be responsible. Since one solar project proceeds very much like another, albeit with occasional exceptions, these workflows can be saved and reused as Task Templates. But since you may not know precisely which individuals you'll be assigning on future projects, you can assign Tasks to specific User Roles, and when the time comes, the person in that Role will automatically be assigned. By loading a Template on a new project, you save yourself the work of having to create each and every task, each and every time!
