Wiz Quoted Price

The Wiz being a self-help quoting tool, visitors are meant to get an idea what it will cost to put solar panels on their roof. Of course, the cost can look very different depending on whether they choose to pay cash (say, ~$30,000 up front) as opposed to financing it (~$140/mo). Depending on your target market, you might get a lot more traction with one model than the other. Granted, it's not our business to know which you should use, but we do give you the option to decide for yourself! Typically, buyers with tons of cash who like solar for its ecological or cool factors will be more responsive to a cash price that they see as straightforward and transparent. Buyers looking to optimize their household budget by reducing their light bill are likely to opt for a long-term loan.

Both pricing methods start with a baseline system cost, which is determined by the visitor's input (the system they design) and the Sales Price Tiers you set up. An 11.2 kW PV system priced at $2.70/W will total $30,240. If you're quoting the cash price, this is what will show up on the Wiz estimate.

If you're presenting the financing method, you need to select a loan in your Wiz Manager, since the rate and term can drastically affect the monthly payment.

The loan payment presented assumes the borrower will make a paydown equivalent to the Solar Investment Tax Credit (currently 30%). There's no contingency for them failing to issue their paydown.

The longer the term and lower the interest rate, the lower the payment will be. To present pricing that is both favorable and honest, you'll want to use the your longest term loan.

Longer-term, lower-rate loans typically come with higher dealer fees. You'll want to make sure dealer fees, as well as all other project costs, are securely budgeted into your sales price tiers. Nobody likes a bait-and-switch!
